Where do I begin with this one? On January 12, 2010 an earthquake struck the people of Haiti and devastated the lives of millions. My first thought was that I wanted to help, but I didn't know how to make an impact other than just giving a little extra to one of my favorite organizations, Compassion International. The next day, I saw that my friend and colleague Kelsey Bigelow was planning a mini-session to benefit an aid organization helping Haiti already. I thought that it would make a greater impact to get involved, and to get other photographers involved in doing the same thing. Photographers for Haiti was birthed out of these ideas.

Thank you for joining with us on this journey to impact the lives of others.

On January 12, I was stunned to hear the news of the earthquake in Haiti. As its been said many times the past week, tragedy has a way of finding those who are already hurting. I wanted so badly to help everyone affected. I can't do much. But I can take pictures. I had an idea. What about a mini-session date with proceeds going to the Red Cross? Kristi Crosson jumped in. What if we got more photographers involved? And thats how Photographers for Haiti was born.

Photographers for Haiti is a collaboration of photographers around the world who are pledging to donate proceeds from one day of mini-sessions to one of four relief organizations to help with the destruction in Haiti.

Thank you for your support! We hope you'll join us! If you are a professional photographer interested in participating, please send us an email at photographersforhaiti@gmail.com There are rules for participating and being listed as a photographer on our site.
